two exciting things to tell

Yesterday morning a big truck stopped in our street pulling a machine behind it. Four men jumped out and started pollarding all the plane trees that line the footpaths. Then they put the branches they had cut into the machine and it turned the branches into snow-wood. There's snow-wood all down the street now and, with all the fog, it looks like proper snow. The best bit is the whole street smells like the inside of trees which is a really wonderful smell.

The second exciting thing is that the girl human often works in Geneva (which is not in Wimbledon but somewhere called Switzerland). Sometimes she brings things back with her. Last time she went she bought back a glass jar with something called Rillettes de Canard inside. She had it on french bread last night and she gave me a tiny morsel to taste. Ecstasy!
