I love the seaside

Fresh mackerel for lunch today from the fish market on the Stade. I notice there's three, so I reckon the humans can share the little one between them and I can have the other two. Sounds perfect.

This will surprise the guests

If the 'guests' insist on using my bedroom, I am going to sleep inside their pillowcase in order to show them whose bedroom this really is. FAZ

Fagged-out Friday

It's true, I am completely exhausted It's been non-stop down here at the seaside. I thought it was supposed to be a holiday home but when do I get a holiday? We have different people arriving nearly every other day and staying in the 'guest' bedroom. I thought this was supposed to be MY BEDROOM! Geesh!

Nevertheless, I do have a cunning plan. If I stay here and refuse to move I am sure they will give up and go back to their own homes and bedrooms.

A new scratching post

The humans bought this last weekend in an antiques shop in the Old Town. It is inlaid mother of pearl so it smells like the sea and is perfect for sharpening my claws on. For some reason this seems to get the humans all in a lather. Why else do they have furniture? FAZ

Now I am really worried

What are those humans thinking about?

Not only has poor old Santa got to get down that really narrow chimney, now they've lit a fire in the fireplace so he'll never be able to get here to deliver my presents!

What will I do?

Saturday, December 15, 2007

I am a bit worried ...

I am not 100% sure Santa's going to be able to get down here to deliver my Temptations.

I have a serious confession ...

Yesterday's picture is a fake - yes I admit it.
  • Confession 1: it is an old picture - it has not yet snowed in London this winter.
  • Confession 2: there is no way I would really wear antlers NO WAY! The boy human did it in photoshop (looks pretty good though doesn't it?).

My Box of Life

Here are 13 things that I am very grateful for in my Box of Life

1. My humans who always look after me (even when I bite them and go a-wandering)
2. My blogging pals who I love and admire
3. My furs that keep me warm
4. My ears to hear with
5. My eyes to see with
6. My mouth to eat with
7. Which reminds me - I am very grateful for munchies and temptations
8. Cat nip is important too
9. Luscious Little Mice for nibbling
10. My nice warm Gizzie quilt
11. The fact that I can sleep on the end of the humans' bed and they don't mind
12. My cat flap so I can come and go as I please
13. My big garden full of Luscious Little Mice, Cheeky Squirrels and Brazen Birds
p.s. I forgot to mention cuddles - I pretend not to enjoy them very much but I would miss them if they weren't forced upon me.

It's okay - I am safe

I am not really a Borg. As Marilyn Monreow pointed out, it's impossible to assimilate a cat. We're much too independent to control.

Friday Feast

Look what I found at Skeeter and LC's blog. The Friday's Feast Chef has taken the holiday off, so they are offering a one-time-only alternative.

Appetizer:
What is yer favorit toy?

Luscious Little Mice (they're not really toys but I like to play with them)

Soup:
Where do you like to sit best?

On the boy human's favourite chair (especially when he wants to sit down - this is him hogging his chair and not letting me on it)

Salad:
Complete this sentence: I love to sleep on…

and on, and on, and on, and on.

Main Course:
What annoys you most about yer Bein?

He always wants to sit in my favourite chair

Dessert:

Name 2 things you would like to change about yer house.

Bigger food bowls and more places to play hide and seek

One of the great historical records of the Middle Ages in Britain lies, not in a library, and not even in Britain, but in a specially-built tourist centre in Bayeux, France. The Bayeux Tapestry tells the story of William the Conqueror's invasion of England and the Battle of Hastings which led to his victory (n.b. Hastings is where we have our new seaside apartment).

We do not know for certain who commissioned the tapestry, though the likeliest candidate is William's half-brother Odo, Bishop of Bayeux.

What we do know is that one of my ancestors fought on the side of the English against William. Sadly, we did not win but my ancestor has been captured for eternity in the tapestry.

Can you see Fazbeux my ancestor (you might have to biggify)?

Preparing for Afternoon Tea

We mustn't forget the teapot for the tea, the sugar bowl for the sugar and the jug for the cream (I'm looking after the cream and plan to test it through out the afternoon to ensure it stays fresh).

We also have scones with cream and strawberry jam
and a rather delicious chocolate cake. Oh, and there is also thinly sliced cucumber for the cucumber sandwiches (but they are rather boring and don't include cream). We have to remember to cut off the crusts though as you must never have crusts on a cucumber sandwich.

I am getting very excited and dreaming of nothing but cream. Purrs FAZ

p.s. I will show you all what I plan to wear tomorrow. I don't want to spoil the surprise.

p.p.s. Just in case you think I am a little obsessed with the white stuff, my outfit doesn't involve cream.

Afternoon Tea

Apparently we've got some humans coming over tomorrow for afternoon tea. I've heard of breakfast, lunch and dinner but never afternoon tea.

But, as I am sure you know, I am always happy to have another eating opportunity.

I wonder what I should wear?

It was a chilly minus two last night, so I decided to use the time to do some quality snuggling.

Shall we dance?

I love to watch Strictly Come Dancing (Dancing with the Stars). It's so romantic - the Tango, the Waltz, the Foxtrot - I am sure if I try really hard I will be able to master them all. After all, if humans can do it on only two legs I am sure I will manage marvelously on four.

Here's me practicing my latest dance step - the reverse fleckle.

We're by the seaside again this weekend.

It was sunny yesterday and wet and windy today. I think I like wet and windy best as the seagulls keep soaring past my window and I pretend in my little head that I can talk them down to within reach of my balcony. But they don't seem to listen.

The glorious Blue Boys

Everton, our glorious football team (soccer to my American pals), won their 5th match in a row last night in the UEFA cup against Nuremberg in Germany.

This is a picture the humans took last weekend when they won 3:1 against Birmingham. Everton are called the toffees and this is a picture of the toffee girl handing out Everton sweets to the kids and Everton the Elephant in the background behind her. In honour of this I have changed my typeface today to blue.

P.S. DEAR FRIENDS, THE STUPID GIRL HUMAN ACCIDENTLY DELETED ALL YOUR COMMENTS THIS MORNING. WE DID READ THEM AND APOLOGISE FOR BEING SO SILLY.

They're back at last

Dear Friends, I was starting to get worried. Not only did they leave me at home, they took my normal carers Bob and Miriam with them. I had to have a human called Wayne and a little girl called Mabel (and to be frank I haven't had much dealings with small humans as they make me nervous).

They went on a holiday to Lancashire and Derbyshire. They were supposed to be walking and visiting nice hotels but due to the girl human's incapacitated ankle they had to drop the walking bit. Here's the girl human in a pretty little village called Waddington with Bob and Miriam. You can tell from their eyes that they are really missing me. FAZ

p.s. I haven't got around to visit anyone much because I've had no one to help me. I will try and stop by this weekend. I believe I've been missing loads of great parties and things. Purrs

The Move - Part 2

The girl human says this move is easy because we're not moving the whole house, lock, stock and barrel, we're just moving some of our stuff to our new apartment by the seaside. She says it's better because we can now spread our junk over two houses rather than just one.

I think I know what she means.

p.s. I just checked and my snuggle rug has been packed - whew!

A Friday Conundrum

Can you tell what this is?

What could it be?

It's me having a bath under my snuggle rug on my favourite old chair.

Wordless Wednesday

You may have to biggify to see what this says

Monday, October 22, 2007

Here's some good advice ...

If you want someone who will eat whatever you put in front of him and never says it's not quite as good as his mother made ...
then buy a dog.

If you want someone who's always willing to go out, at any hour, for as long as you want, wherever you want ...

then buy a dog.

If you want someone who will never touch the remote, doesn't care about football, and can sit next to you as you watch romantic movies ...

then buy a dog.

If you want someone who is content to get up on your bed just to warm your feet and whom you can push off if he snores ...

then buy a dog.

If you want someone who never criticizes you; doesn't care if you are pretty or handsome or ugly, fat or thin, young or old; who acts as if every word you say is especially worthy of listening to; and loves you unconditionally, perpetually ...

then buy a dog.

But, on the other hand, if you want someone who will never come when you call, ignores you totally when you come home, leaves hair all over the place, walks all over you, runs around all night and only comes home to eat and sleep, and acts as if your entire existence is solely to ensure their happiness ...

Then buy a cat!
