T-Cubed Toosday - Top Tip

Here's a Top Tip for your claws:

As all my cat pals know, it's important to keep your fur shiny, your teeth clean and your claws sharp.

My favourite way to get a good pedicure is to find a nice piece of furniture (like my favourite chair above) and then use the arms and back to sharpen your claws and keep them trim.

As you can see from this picture, fabric is particularly good for this as it is very pliable and it's easy to get your claws between the threads - this helps with the cleaning and gives extra shine too.
Don't worry if you pull a few threads - this shows the humans that you are really taking care of yourself and will make them happy.

Faz, that is a good tip. But I get in big trouble if I use anything except my scratcher to sharpen my claws. I don't understand it though. Fabric is perfect for clawing.

Thanks for the tip Faz! :) I think my humans would be very upset if I used my claws on the furniture though. Luckily my sissal cat trees are really nice to scratch on!

Mom calls that: "nubbly material that cats just *love!"

We are very good, though. We have cat trees scattered about :::whispering now::: and sometimes I use the carpet on the floor.

Great tips Faz. Unfortunately I did that to much and now have to wear "soft paws." It wouldn't be bad, but mommy buys them in "funky colors." Sigh. You are looking quite buff Faz. I hate to say it (only cause diets stink) but you are looking good!

I think your people would be even happier if you used your scratcher to sharpen your claws. The fabric may give your claws that extra shine, but the scratcher is safer.

mol mol mol It is like you read my mind! I find this also works especially well when the humans buy brand new furniture. Yes, very satisfying!

Ohhhhh touchy subject here too... literally.

Hey, I just read your bloggie below. Funny how humans do not understand how you brought in the birdie, just to let them know it needed a proper funeral.

Great tip! Although I've never touched the furniture I'll keep it in mind should I need a pawdicure!

Great tip. Our humans threaten us when we try this, with a water bottle. They usually miss, because we run fast! Purrs

That is a some work you have done there kitty. You look like my auntie's old kitty who used to claw at the toilet paper and put it all on the floor! meow!

Sorry, but I can't let Kimo & Sabi read your blog today - I cannot condone clawing.

Hmmm...you might want to be careful there. I agree you need to keep you nails sharp, but there might be better places to do it to keep your humans happy. Insist they get you a nice scratching post.

Sorry you keep getting snow. This climate stuff is really confusing!

Faz, Our beans don't seem to like it when we do this. They yell things like "wouldyastopdoingthatrightnow!"

Thank you for the tip Faz but I'm already in so much trouble because Mom and my Daddy don't understand how important it is for me to use the leather recliner to keep my nails sharp. I think they'd go ballistic if I started on the fabric loveseat too.

Hissy does that to the couch. I got him a lovely scrap of rug and hung it from the doorknob. I even rubbed it with fresh (not dried) catnip. He ignores it. I have shown him how to use it. Still, he ignores it. Is there any hope for this situation?

What a nice job you have done on that chair. Phoebe and I used to decorate Tracy's furniture like that. But Denis didn't appreciate our taste. When he moved in with his new furniture, we got decimal digit amputations so that we wouldn't decorate his furniture.

We still like to stretch and imagine that we are scratching.

I wonder why Momma isn't happy about my sharpening.
