The problem with ducks

This is a picture of some ducks that live in the Wandle River near my house.

The way I see it; ducks are pretty annoying:

1. The live in the water most of the time, so you can't chase them.
2. They usually come in pairs so they help each other keep watch.
3. The make loud quacking noises, so if they spot me on the bank they warn all the other birds as well.
4. They fly very high and fast which makes them doubly difficult to catch.
5. Even if I could catch them the are probably too big to eat.

I don't have any of these problems with cat munchies.

Plus, who's going to get in that water to chase them? Too much trouble!!!

Yup. We think you would probably have to freeze some of the duck because it would be too much for one sitting.

Oh, those look like the ducks we see in the pond in the park across the street. We see gooses in the pond too and sometimes they come across the street and walk in our yard. I like to sit in the front window and get a closeup look at them.

Amen Brother! (Mom's a big fan of LOST. Desmond always says "brother").

Kim here: As for my blog, yep, I loved that picture so much that I want to put it on a shirt. I couldn't resist posting it when I read it! LOL! Pretty much sums up my attitude most of the time.

I saw ducks for the first time when my humans took me strolling in the Englischer Garten in Munich. They looked very cool. After reading your list, however, I see that they aren't so cool after all.

Thanks very much for the vote. :)

Crunchies are the best for...well...crunching on.

But oh how fun it must be to stalk and chase the ducks! Unless of course they chase you back...eek.

I'm not a fan of them either. I used to love feeding them when I was little though.

Faz, I agree with your analysis. Ducks... who needs 'em?

Those ducks look interesting to watch, but i see what you mean about the problems they can instigate.

Sometimes they chase you! Really!

Oh, the duckies look like they'd be fun to play with, but we'd have to build a kittyboat to go out there and get 'em, and that would be an awful lotta trouble -- a nap's lookin' really nice right about now, don't ya think?

I'm sorry, maybe your owners would buy you a dead duck? I hear duck is quite tasty.

You should meet my ducks. They are hardly annoying at all. Unless you think crapping all over the place is annoying.

Faz, nice banner!

As for ducks, I've never really seen one. We don't get many ducks in the desert.

Hmm. Ducks definitely sound like a nuisance. Can't say I've ever seen a live one. Can't say that I want to after reading your report on them.
