Once upon a time ....

Did you know there is a website called Cats who look like Hitler?

I read about it on Axel's blog yesterday BUT I wanted to tell you about our local cat called Hitler.

He looked just like the cat pictured above and he was the local neighbourhood tom. Hitler lived in the next street in a very nice house but unfortunately nature overtook nurture and he was a bit of a bully - just life Hefty Tabby.

He used to come in through the cat flap and terrorise us girls (I was only a kitten at the time and Bebington was an old lady). He would spray up the walls to mark his territory and the humans were constantly washing and deodorising to try and get rid of his scent.

The final straw was the day the girl human came home to find him asleep on the bed with the two of us (we weren't too happy about it but we didn't have much choice). That's when the girl human decided to lay a trap.

She set the cat flap to one-way so he could get in and not get out, then when she got home from work he was there waiting - trapped inside. She put him in a basket, rang the vet and took him straight down the next morning for a little nip/tuck. She did tell a little white lie to the vet and said Hitler belonged to us but it was all for a good cause.

When Hitler got back from the vet and had recovered, the girl human let him go back home. For some reason he never came to our house again but he did live to a ripe old age (senza sfera) and there were a few less unwanted kittens in the area as well which is a good thing.

THE END

Pat and I once saw a tuxedo kitty with those kind of markings, and Der Fuhrer was not the first person to come to mind. An Agatha Christie fan, she called this tux "Poirot."

Your little Kitler had to pay a high price for his uninvited visits. The dear boy learned, but must have been sadder-but-wiser.

Wow, who would name their cat Hitler? Not a very nice name.

That was very nice of your girl human to get the neighbourhood tom fixed so that he couldn't father anymore unwanted kittens.

Oh wow, I'm certainly glad he got the nip. I have heard of the Kitlers and there is a whole following of people who love them.

What a great story! That cat was very rude to sneak into your house like that. And to make a stinky mess too! That was an ingenious plot the girl human came up with to fix the Hitler cat. Because it would be Wrong for him to make any babies.

Oh yeah... that kitler had to be taken for a snip -- no doubt about it. Marking territory... sleeping on the beds... and foolin' around with the fertile females are all problem behaviours.

That's an interesting story. Hmph, I wonder why Hitler never came back? That was some consequence for coming in uninvited. Obviously, an effective one.

Oh I think that was a fine fine story!

That is a terrible story you told us Fazzie. What a sad and naughty kitty that he should run around and come into your house!
Naughty naughty.

So far... no neighborhood bullies up here on the hill... but when we lived 6 streets away.... hoo boy it was a noisy night every night. and we had one neighbor kitty named "Baby" and she was no baby... she climbed our window screens and tore them up!

Thank you for sharing with us this interesting story.
We would not want to have a kitty named Hitler... why not just name it the Devil...

Great story Faz. So glad he got fixed and left you guys alone. I think Poirot is a better name than the other. Love the pictures in the post below. I sleep with my head flat, too. (Sam)

That's quite a story! It was nice of the girl to take care of him like that. Maybe after he was allowed to stay inside his own house. Too bad about his name, though.
