The Antarctic

Did you know that Antarctica is the coldest, driest and windiest continent, and has the highest average elevation of all the continents (I am not sure what that means but it does sound very impressive)?

Since there is little precipitation (e.g. rain type stuff) except at the coasts, the interior of the continent is technically the largest desert in the world - WOW! (Note to self: Remember to take something to drink and eat.)

There are no permanent human or feline residents and there is no evidence of any existing or pre-historic indigenous population. Only cold-adapted plants and animals survive there, including penguins, fur seals, mosses and lichens. I wonder if I will see any of these things on my next big adventure?

Love your Antarctic Explorer Friend FAZ

Oh, I see you already picked out your coat for the excursion. Red is a good color, easy to spot in the snow... you might need that.

Gosh you're brave even thinking of going outside in the cold! Though if penguins are birds that can't fly maybe it's worth it...

I wish that big fat wood pigeon couldn't fly, then I'd get him! ;)

That's interesting stuff! A coat is a good thing there, I'm thinking.

I agree with Ramses on the penguins thing.

You are very brave, Faz. Yes, be sure to take along lots of food and water because you use up lots more energy in the cold.
