Thank You Bob

Do you like my new Banner? It was designed for me by my friend Bob.

Bob and his wife Miriam look after me and feed me when the humans are on holiday. They live in Wimbledon too (very close to Hefty Tabby's haunt - so I don't go and visit them on my own). Thank You Bob. FAZ

My Thinking Blogger Awards

Here are the rules for the Thinking Blogger award:

1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think
2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme
3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wrote (here is an alternative silver version if gold doesn't fit your blog).

Firstly, thank you to Kaze and Chairman Mao for voting for me, I am most flattered. When I started blogging I had no idea what I would find out there. I have to say I've found lots of interesting perspectives, some great blogging pals and some really cool cats. Here are my 5 blogs in no particular order.

1. Skittles; she posts at the speed of light, so there's always something new, fun or different to think about.

2. Mist 1; this woman clearly has the IQ of a genius, the humour of a comedienne and the bad habits of a serial killer.

3. Daisy; I love her. She's smart and funny and dresses to die for.

4. Artsy Catsy; CEO Rocky and his team of cats and humans constantly reporting their adventures and designing great items for cat lovers.

5. Pablo; my Aussie mate with a great attitude and lots to tell about life in Tassie (Tasmania).

I wish I could nominate all my pals but I am only allowed 5 so that's it folks. Enjoy. Purr FAZ

The problem with ducks

This is a picture of some ducks that live in the Wandle River near my house.

The way I see it; ducks are pretty annoying:

1. The live in the water most of the time, so you can't chase them.
2. They usually come in pairs so they help each other keep watch.
3. The make loud quacking noises, so if they spot me on the bank they warn all the other birds as well.
4. They fly very high and fast which makes them doubly difficult to catch.
5. Even if I could catch them the are probably too big to eat.

I don't have any of these problems with cat munchies.

I had a big adventure

Sorry I haven't been around for a couple of days, but I decided it was time to have one of my 'road trips'. This is me starting on my journey heading off across the garden shed down to the railway tracks.

The reason I head down to the railway tracks is because I don't have to go near any cars and I can cross over the railway bridge (where it's safe) to see what is happening on the other side

Then I found this tree with a nest in it. Maybe there would be some little nestlings to play with inside? It wasn't a normal English tree but the nest still looked pretty good. I climbed up to have a look but it was completely empty.

I walked on a bit further till I came to his sign. This is the start of Hefty Tabby's territory so I think this sign is some kind of warning. It is certainly pretty scary looking.

Just then I saw my mate Nero. She warned me that hefty tabby was at home and that I should consider turning back. Nero doesn't like Hefty Tabby either.

I thought this was good advice, so I headed back along the path. I didn't panic, I just stayed calm cos I am sure Hefty Tabby can smell fear. This path runs all the way alongside the railway tracks back to my house.

Home again. Doesn't my front door look pretty with all the pink petals on the ground?

Another exciting adventure over until next time. THE END.

Scary

Remember when I went to the V.E.T. the other day, I mentioned I'd seen these big clippy, cloppy, animals that were bigger than 'vishus deer' with humans sitting on top. Well there was one outside my house yesterday. Right outside. As bold as brass. As you can imagine I stayed inside and didn't wander out.

Also, they smell like rotting hay and snort a lot and blow air out through their noses - good grief - maybe it's a FIRE BREATHING DRAGON? They snort a lot and blow air out threw their noses don't they?

YIKES!

Dear All

I ate some dinner last night and didn't throw up so I am pretty sure I am better. Thank you so much for your warm wishes they were greatly appreciated.

I wanted to tell you about my current concern; which is bumble bees. We have had terrible news here in England that there is a significant decline in numbers and several species have already died out. Nobody knows why yet.

We have been asked to create little homes for the Queen Bees in our gardens by upturning plant pots near flowering plants so they can make a hive.

The good news is we spotted a Queen in the garden today (the picture isn't very good I'm afraid) so we have made a hive for her as instructed and are keeping fingers and paws crossed that she finds it and moves in.

Will let you know if it works as I am under strict instructions not to eat her. Purr FAZ

I am feeling a bit poorly

Yesterday, I had my favourite dinner of tuna chunks in spring water and moments later I threw it all up. Then about 5 AM I decided to try some chicken munchies but they didn't stay down either. I wonder if it was that worm I ate yesterday?

I think I will just sleep today and see how I feel tomorrow.

Message for Dr Daisy:
Dear Dr Daisy, your 'paw'scription worked really well. I did the sand paper licks and the kneading biscuits and I have been forgiven. Thank you Daisy, you are the bestest cat doctor ever!

I keep forgetting things ...

Not only did I forget my birthday, I also forgot I let a little mouse loose in the house a few weeks ago.

It must have died because the girl human found it dead in her tennis shoe. She wasn't best pleased especially as it smelled really bad (I personally love the smell of dead mouse). She has had to throw out the shoe because the mouse's decomposing innards ruined the lining.

They are now trying to humiliate me by publishing this picture. They think if I have a head like an elephant I might start to remember things (apparently an elephant NEVER forgets).

Coots' Nook

Dear All, we had lovely warm weather yesterday which was perfect for sunbathing and rolling in the dust (hence the reason I didn't get a chance to go on line and blog).

Thought you might enjoy these pictures of some coots who live on the River Thames near Kingston. As you can see they have had a special home built for them by some friendly humans.

If you biggify the pictures you will see that Mrs Coot has a little platform to keep her and her eggs safe from predators and her husband is near by to keep an eye on things as well. I also like her little umbrella which helps keep the sun and rain off. Even though I am an evil hunter, I am not prepared to swim for my prey.

Get my banner code

A confession

On Wednesday I showed pictures of 5 things I like to chase.
The fifth thing on the list was braer fox. A lot of blogging pals commented on this because they thought I was very brave for chasing him.

The truth is that I do WANT to chase him but I've never really done it. I did run out of the catflap on one occasion when he was snuffling around the garden and he looked up and ran off (but that just might have been because I surprised him).

So I do have the DESIRE to chase him but I haven't ACTUALLY done it.

How I achieve balance

The lovely WILLOW tagged me on BALANCE in my life. Here are my answers:

How do you achieve balance in your life?

Cats don't normally need to achieve balance, we are naturally balanced individuals both mentally and physically. I have noticed, however, that if Hefty Tabby chases me through the cat flap (and won't let me back out) then I do feel a bit discombobulated!

What is your biggest challenge in balancing your life?

Avoiding Hefty Tabby

What are your priorities?
1. Catching all the luscious little mice that live in the overgrown garden next door and eating them (BURP - oops - excuse me)
2. Keeping braer fox out of my garden and away from the house
3. Making sure the cheeky squirrels know their place and don't get too rambunctious

How have your priorities changed over time and why?

My priorities haven't really changed although sometimes I'd rather just have a nap.

What advice can you share to help all of us balance our own lives?

Get plenty of sleep, eat well and make sure your humans are well trained.

Is everyone getting an Easter break? We get both Friday and Monday off here in the UK!
p.s. this was me BEFORE my diet.

One thing I forgot to mention ...

I now know my birthday. I didn't know my birthday before.
When we went to the V.E.T. on Saturday they had the records from my original owner (the one who got sick and couldn't look after me anymore).

On the records it said I was born on:

21st September 2002

That means I am 4 years old (and will be 5 this year).

I wonder what I will get for my birthday?

Parental Guidance Warning

I should have guessed when I saw the basket in the hall; but it's been such a long time since I last saw the basket that I didn't think about the implications.

Yes, you've guessed it, they took me to the V. E. T. on Saturday.

They carried me outside and put me in the box on wheels (I think it's called a car). Then they drove me up the hill onto the common and I knew things were not going to be good. Then we stopped to wait for some big animals with humans on them to pass us. You have to see these animals - they are even bigger and scarier than the vishus deer, plus they make loud clopping and chomping noises. I will try and get a photo to show you what they look like.

Then it got worse. I got carried from the car into a building which smelled like hospitals. Firstly, there were loads of dogs (they were big and they smell funny and some seemed okay but not all of them looked cat-friendly).

Then, we went into the little room with a strange human in a white coat. She felt my tummy, looked inside my mouth and gave me an injection. That bit wasn't too bad except she did mention that my "tummy was getting a little large" (she should have seen it before the diet)! She also tried to push a tablet into my mouth but I fooled her. Six times she tried and six times I spat it out. The tablet was supposed to get rid of worms - but what's the point in that - I quite like worms.

Then - hooray - it was all over and we went back home. I got given some tuna as a special treat for all my hardships.

I must remember next time that the basket is not a good sign. FAZ
