p.s. I forgot to mention cuddles - I pretend not to enjoy them very much but I would miss them if they weren't forced upon me.

One of the great historical records of the Middle Ages in Britain lies, not in a library, and not even in Britain, but in a specially-built tourist centre in Bayeux, France. The Bayeux Tapestry tells the story of William the Conqueror's invasion of England and the Battle of Hastings which led to his victory (n.b. Hastings is where we have our new seaside apartment).

We do not know for certain who commissioned the tapestry, though the likeliest candidate is William's half-brother Odo, Bishop of Bayeux.

What we do know is that one of my ancestors fought on the side of the English against William. Sadly, we did not win but my ancestor has been captured for eternity in the tapestry.

Preparing for Afternoon Tea

We mustn't forget the teapot for the tea, the sugar bowl for the sugar and the jug for the cream (I'm looking after the cream and plan to test it through out the afternoon to ensure it stays fresh).










We also have scones with cream and strawberry jam
and a rather delicious chocolate cake. Oh, and there is also thinly sliced cucumber for the cucumber sandwiches (but they are rather boring and don't include cream). We have to remember to cut off the crusts though as you must never have crusts on a cucumber sandwich.


I am getting very excited and dreaming of nothing but cream. Purrs FAZ

p.s. I will show you all what I plan to wear tomorrow. I don't want to spoil the surprise.

p.p.s. Just in case you think I am a little obsessed with the white stuff, my outfit doesn't involve cream.

Afternoon Tea

Apparently we've got some humans coming over tomorrow for afternoon tea. I've heard of breakfast, lunch and dinner but never afternoon tea.

But, as I am sure you know, I am always happy to have another eating opportunity.

I wonder what I should wear?

Winter is on its way

It was a chilly minus two last night, so I decided to use the time to do some quality snuggling.

Shall we dance?

I love to watch Strictly Come Dancing (Dancing with the Stars). It's so romantic - the Tango, the Waltz, the Foxtrot - I am sure if I try really hard I will be able to master them all. After all, if humans can do it on only two legs I am sure I will manage marvelously on four.

We're by the seaside again this weekend.

It was sunny yesterday and wet and windy today. I think I like wet and windy best as the seagulls keep soaring past my window and I pretend in my little head that I can talk them down to within reach of my balcony. But they don't seem to listen.

The glorious Blue Boys

Everton, our glorious football team (soccer to my American pals), won their 5th match in a row last night in the UEFA cup against Nuremberg in Germany.

This is a picture the humans took last weekend when they won 3:1 against Birmingham. Everton are called the toffees and this is a picture of the toffee girl handing out Everton sweets to the kids and Everton the Elephant in the background behind her. In honour of this I have changed my typeface today to blue.

P.S. DEAR FRIENDS, THE STUPID GIRL HUMAN ACCIDENTLY DELETED ALL YOUR COMMENTS THIS MORNING. WE DID READ THEM AND APOLOGISE FOR BEING SO SILLY.

They're back at last

Dear Friends, I was starting to get worried. Not only did they leave me at home, they took my normal carers Bob and Miriam with them. I had to have a human called Wayne and a little girl called Mabel (and to be frank I haven't had much dealings with small humans as they make me nervous).

They went on a holiday to Lancashire and Derbyshire. They were supposed to be walking and visiting nice hotels but due to the girl human's incapacitated ankle they had to drop the walking bit. Here's the girl human in a pretty little village called Waddington with Bob and Miriam. You can tell from their eyes that they are really missing me. FAZ

p.s. I haven't got around to visit anyone much because I've had no one to help me. I will try and stop by this weekend. I believe I've been missing loads of great parties and things. Purrs
