Two rats and two cats

These two mummified rats and two mummified cats are on a wall in an old Pub in Hastings called The Stag.

It is commonly believed they belonged to a witch called Hannah and they were found bricked into a ledge above her old hearth. No one really knows how they got there but during the Great Plague of 1665/6 it was believed that cats may be carriers of the disease.

Now these poor little cats live forever on the wall of the pub.

Things to eat around the house

I was feeling a little 'gustatorially' bored today.
Chicken munchies - been there done that.
Tuna - all gone.
Then I spotted these. Num, Num, Num.

Baby it's cold outside

I thought they were working!!!!!

I was waiting ages tonight for the humans to come home – once again I was worried they are working too hard. But I have now found out they were watching their football team Everton on TV. Apparently they won by two goals and Ossie and Big Vic scored. I am a bit annoyed as I wanted blogging time! But anyway this is a picture of Everton's manager, he's a Scot and likes Haggis, so I think I like him. I think in this picture he is just about to catch one to take home and cook. As to catch a haggis, you have to sit under a tree and whistle until it falls off its branch.

Bye for now, all this talk of Haggis has made me hungry.

Too Many Pancakes!!

Hello everyone. Sorry I haven't been around much, two reasons really. 1. As you can see I had far too many pancakes and have been sleeping them off. 2. My humans are very busy at that work thing they go to – so my blogging time has been drastically cut down! I hope things quieten down a bit for them soon so I can visit my blogging pals more often. But I do dream about you all in between the LLM and cheeky squirrels.

It's Pancake day

Here is my own variation on the traditional British pancake. The addition of heaps of Tuna flakes is very important.

100g (4oz) plain flour 1 egg 300ml (1/2 pint) milk optional pinch salt oil for frying Tuna Flakes

To make the pancake batter, add the milk, egg and then the flour and blend using an electric blender or food processor. Or if a blender is not available, sift the flour and salt into a bowl. Add the egg and beat well. Then add the milk gradually and beat to make a smooth batter.

Heat a little oil in a large frying pan until hot and then pour enough batter to thinly coat the base of the pan. Cook for a couple of minutes each side.

Serve sprinkled with lashings of Tuna flakes!

I'm Bored

Friday night and there is absolutely nothing to watch. I've seen all the old Tom and Jerry's and I don't like how cruel Jerry is to Tom. The Aristocats is good but I've seen it four times. I liked the cat in Red Dwarf he made me laugh but it's not on anymore.

Well I'm just going to have to go out and catch me some LLM.
