p.s. Faz seems to have improved so we are going to see if we can take her off the medicine longer term - I know Metacam does have some side effects but she has had a miraculous improvement since she has been on it and is now moving around again and acting like her old self. I am speaking to the vet about what happens next as I am hoping it may have been a short term problem like a trapped nerve or lumbago.

That's good news, we'll cross our paws Faz will be good off the meds too.
We all just try to make the best decisions we can for our fur families, and it's always a learn-as-you-go thing. There are so many things I wish I knew with regard to Annie, as I feel she might still be with me.
